Confederation Of Aerial Industries Ltd Registered Installers | Manchester (Town in Lancashire)
Established in 1978, the Confederation of Aerial Industries (CAI) is the representative trade body for the TV signal distribution industry. With over 85% of the membership dedicated to installation services, the CAI has developed Codes of Practice which are mandatory to its Members. Over the years the role of the CAI has grown into a nationally recognised organisation and encompasses all aspects of regulation and training for the industry.
The Confederation aims to raise standards within the industry; to represent its Members to Government, local authorities, nationalised bodies, etc, to unite the industry on its common aims and to keep abreast of technological change.
Applicants for membership have to satisfy the Board of Directors that their company conducts a sound and reputable business as a contractor, manufacturer, wholesaler or retailer, either for domestic aerial and satellite installations, MATV, CATV, or SMATV systems, entryphone and warden call, or other communication systems.
All applicants have to work to strict criteria to be accepted into the Confederation and are inspected thereafter on a regular basis. All of these safety measures aim to give the consumer peace of mind when choosing a reputable installer.
As a brand new scheme for the digital switchover the Confederation has launched a higher membership category called CAI plus. This was created to allow all of their 10,000+ engineers to gain recognition as qualified digital installers. This new scheme indicates to the public that CAI engineers are trained, regulated to a high standard and are competent. Over and above the normal assessment criteria, CAI plus installers also have to provide the following evidence:
